Deutsche Telekom’s T Wholesale and Nokia have signed a commercial deal to make network APIs more accessible for developers. This partnership marks a major step towards enabling new security and authentication solutions for financial and retail services, empowering developers to create cutting-edge applications while leveraging the power of mobile networks.
The collaboration introduces two key network APIs–Sim Swap and Number Verification–through Nokia’s Network as Code platform.
Sim Swap API detects recent SIM card changes associated with a phone number, enabling businesses to add an additional layer of security to prevent fraud.
Number Verification API confirms phone number ownership to secure transactions originating from authorized devices.
What this means for developers and enterprises
For developers, these APIs provide powerful tools for enhancing the security of their applications. For enterprises, especially those in financial services, e-commerce, and identity verification, these APIs can help in fraud prevention and secure transactions.
With seamless access to telecom network functions, developers can now integrate these capabilities directly into their applications, improving user trust, security, and overall experience. As the ecosystem of network APIs expands, we anticipate seeing even more innovative use cases emerge, powered by the accessibility and standardization that the Network as Code platform provides.
